The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) announced the successful conclusion of the Young Leaders Summit 2.0 - Leadership Dialogue, which took place from August 1st to August 12th, 2024. Under the esteemed patronage of Mr. Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI, President of the BRICS CCI Young Leaders Vertical, and grandson of former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, this distinguished 12-day program aimed to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders.
The BRICS CCI Young Leaders Summit 2.0 was inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat.’ Prime Minister Modi has consistently underscored the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of our nation. His vision emphasized harnessing the energy and ideas of students to drive the goal of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). With India poised to lead globally in the working-age population over the next 25-30 years, PM Modi’s vision highlighted that the next 25 years would be pivotal for today’s students, who would become the architects of new families and societal structures, making their involvement in policy and governance essential.
Aligned with the International Youth Day celebrations, the BRICS CCI Young Leaders Summit 2.0 offered a distinctive and transformative experience for a carefully selected group of young participants from across India. This 12-day program was designed to inspire and equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and insights necessary for impactful leadership.
Mr. Shastri emphasized the summit’s transformative potential, stating, “In an era where global challenges are ever-evolving, we must invest in our youth and provide them with the tools and opportunities to lead with vision and integrity. The Young Leaders Summit 2.0 was our commitment to nurturing future leaders who will drive positive change and contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous world.”
The summit provided a unique platform for young minds to learn about policymaking directly from leaders. Participants engaged with a distinguished lineup of speakers and influencers, including Shri Rajkumar Roat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament - Lok Sabha; H.E. Mr. Denis Alipov, the Ambassador of Russia to India; Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Padma Vibhushan Awardee and former Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; Shri Rajesh Verma, Hon’ble Member of Parliament - Lok Sabha; Ms. Kalpana Sharma, Former Additional Secretary to Lok Sabha, Parliament of India, Senior Advisor to BRICS CCI; Mr. Sahil Seth, Joint Commissioner - GST, Customs and Narcotics; Ms. Sonal Goel IAS, Secretary, Government of Tripura; Mr. Abhishek Gupta, ACP of Delhi Police; Ms. Aradhana Sharma, Communications Specialist - Election Commission of India, among others. These distinguished speakers provided invaluable insights into governance, diplomacy, and leadership through interactive sessions and candid conversations.
A key highlight of the summit was a special visit to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore India's presidential history and its significance in shaping the nation's governance. The summit also included engaging contests such as a Reel Making Contest and a Trivia Quiz, designed to stimulate creativity and intellectual engagement.
The final day featured keynote addresses from H.E. Mr. Denis Alipov, Ambassador of Russia to India, and Mr. WANG Lei, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in India, emphasizing the critical role of youth in global cooperation and development. Other notable speakers included Dr. Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi and Dr. Ashok Tanwar, who motivated participants to engage in nation-building.
All participants received globally recognized merit certificates for their active involvement and commitment to global leadership. By engaging with prominent figures from politics, diplomacy, and governance, participants gained invaluable knowledge and perspectives that will shape their future roles in global leadership. This summit aimed to cultivate a dynamic and diverse cohort of future leaders prepared to drive positive change in the world.

Held on August 16, 2023, this landmark event brought together distinguished speakers, dynamic panelists, and diplomatic figures, celebrating the vibrant contributions of youth leaders from across BRICS nations.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI, who emphasized the need to create platforms for youth to express themselves and contribute meaningfully to society. His sentiment set the tone for the discussions to follow. Mr. Sameep Shastri, President of BRICS CCI Young Leaders and Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI, delivered the opening address, highlighting the pivotal role of young entrepreneurs as "architects of innovation and change."
Key diplomatic voices added depth to the conversation. Mr. Roman Babushkin, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Russia, spoke of Russia and India’s shared commitment to nurturing the potential of youth. Mr. Chen Guihua, Counselor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, emphasized China's willingness to collaborate with emerging markets and developing nations to promote global solidarity and a shared future for mankind.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Ali ACHOUI, Ambassador of Algeria, and Mrs. Tin Tin Htwe Win, Minister Counsellor from the Embassy of Myanmar, along with representatives from Brazil, Russia, China, Algeria, Australia, and the USA.
Two panel discussions were central to the Congress. The first, titled "The Importance of Fostering Cultural Intelligence in Diplomacy," featured high-level speakers such as Mr. Manoj K Bharti, Former Ambassador to Indonesia, Ukraine, Belarus & Timor Leste, and Ms. Leticia Marranghello from the Embassy of Brazil. Moderated by Ambassador Amarendra Khatua, this session explored the transformative impact of cross-cultural understanding in diplomacy.
The second-panel discussion, "Youth Entrepreneurship – Zooming into a Borderless Economy that Values Sustainable Innovation," brought together successful young entrepreneurs such as Mr. Sushil Sharma, Founder of Marwari Catalysts, and Ms. Ravneet Mann, Head of Strategy and Policy at Stride Ventures. This session underscored the critical role of innovation and sustainability in driving entrepreneurship within the global economy.
The Congress concluded with an inspiring Valedictory Session, led by Ms. Shormishtha Ghosh, Governing Body Member, BRICS CCI, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks from Mr. Prann Sharma, Executive Director-Strategy and Governing Body Member, BRICS CCI.
