The Goods and Services Tax (GST), introduced in India on July 1, 2017, marked a transformative moment in the nation's economic history. By unifying multiple indirect taxes into a single, coherent framework, GST streamlined the tax structure, replaced taxes like VAT and service tax, and created a seamless national market governed by Central GST (CGST), State GST (SGST), and Integrated GST (IGST). This revolutionary reform has not only simplified the taxation process but also minimized the cascading effect of taxes through input tax credits, thereby enhancing transparency and efficiency in the Indian tax system.
To commemorate and explore the far-reaching impact of GST, the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) proudly presents the BRICS CCI GST Conclave & Awards. This prestigious event will serve as a platform for insightful discussions on GST’s transformative role across various sectors, its potential future trajectory, and critical aspects of departmental audits. With the participation of leading industry experts, tax professionals, and key stakeholders, the conclave aims to foster a deep understanding of GST’s influence and create a roadmap for its future in India.
BRICS CCI WE Global Women Entrepreneurial Leadership Program
We are excited to announce the launch of the 2nd Edition of the BRICS CCI WE Global Women Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme (GWELP), a transformative initiative aimed at empowering women professionals and entrepreneurs from BRICS nations and other friendly countries through a comprehensive mentorship and learning module.
Mentorship is crucial, especially for women entrepreneurs, as it significantly enhances their chances of success. Reports show that mentored entrepreneurs have a survival rate double that of non-mentored small enterprises. With this in mind, BRICS CCI WE has designed a three- month programme, offering mentorship, global exposure, and knowledge-transfer webinars and roundtables. The programme was developed in association with sheatwork and ThinkStartup.
For the forthcoming sessions during 2024-25, BRICS CCI has partnered with Nippon Paint India. Applications for this programme will be invited from across BRICS nations and other friendly countries. Eminent names from across the network will serve as mentors and speakers.
